FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Questions. We’ve got answers.
The prints
What does “edition of 50” mean?
Each work is produced in a fixed run — say, 50. Once those 50 are sold, that’s it. No reprints, no restocks. Your print ships with its edition number marked on it. Every number in the run is equally valid; there’s no hierarchy between 1 and 50.
Are the prints numbered?
Yes. Each print ships with its edition number marked. Edition sizes vary by work and are listed on each product page.
What sizes are available?
Three sizes per work:
- Small — 30 × 40 cm (approx. 12 × 16 in)
- Medium — 45 × 60 cm (approx. 18 × 24 in)
- Large — 60 × 90 cm (approx. 24 × 36 in)
Pricing for each size is shown on the product page.
What are they printed on?
Archival pigment on cotton rag. The same medium used for museum-quality fine art reproduction — fade-resistant, acid-free, built to last. Not a poster print.
Do they come framed?
Prints ship unframed, rolled in a protective tube. Most customers frame locally; standard 30×40, 45×60, and 60×90 cm frames are widely available at IKEA, Michaels, and most frame shops.
What’s the maze in all the prints?
The maze isn’t a design choice. It’s the route. Every serious basketball life — the transfers, the redshirts, the drop-downs, the walk-aways — is a labyrinth. The maze runs through all 156 works in the catalog as a through-line: basketball as navigation, not just competition. More of the story is in the magazine.
Is this original art or licensed imagery?
Original. All 156 works in the Alleyoop Arts catalog were created in-house. Nothing here is licensed from a league, a team, or a stock library. We author our culture.
Shipping & delivery
Where do you ship?
Canada-wide at launch. International shipping is in the works — we’ll announce when it’s ready.
How do prints ship?
Rolled in a rigid protective tube. Flat shipping damages prints in transit; tubes don’t. To flatten before framing: lay face-down on a clean surface under a few heavy books for 24–48 hours, or roll gently in the opposite direction for a minute first.
How long does delivery take?
Prints are produced to order. Allow 5–10 business days for production plus shipping. You’ll receive a tracking number when your order ships.
Do you ship to P.O. boxes?
No — tubes require a physical street address for delivery.
Orders & returns
Can I return or exchange a print?
Because each print is produced to order and carries a unique edition number, we don’t accept returns for change of mind. If your print arrives damaged or defective, we’ll replace it or refund it — full details in our Returns & Exchanges policy.
What if I ordered the wrong size?
Contact us within 24 hours of placing your order at shop@alleyooparts.ca and we’ll adjust it before production begins. After that, size changes aren’t possible.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, within 24 hours of purchase. Email shop@alleyooparts.ca with your order number.
The organization
Is Alleyoop Arts a store or a non-profit?
Both. Alleyoop Arts is a Canadian cultural organization. The shop — limited prints and merch — is the commercial arm. Revenue from the shop funds the magazine and community programs. We don’t separate the culture from the commerce; one funds the other.
What is the magazine?
Alleyoop is a site-first magazine about Canadian basketball culture — long-form features, photo essays, athlete routes, artist profiles. Published at alleyooparts.ca/blogs/magazine. Free to read. A print edition is planned for Year 2.
I want to collaborate or be featured. How?
Make the pass. Email submit@alleyooparts.ca with who you are and what you’re building. We read everything.
I’m a brand or sponsor — who do I talk to?
We don’t sell ad space. We co-create culture. If that sounds right, email press@alleyooparts.ca.
